RIVER OF LIFE

Now I understand what the dream is. Dream is something beautiful in imagination, but full of obstacles and challenges in reality. Dreams are often not easy to achieve because there are just things that slow them down. I recently crossed the river Ho, which is quite wide, rocky and sometimes fast-flowing watercourse, which separates Ngis village with Rejasa village in Tabanan - Bali. I was reminded of the past.

As a child I often crossed that river with my mother, who always guided me with one hand when he had to walk across a stone that had a slippery surface, or sometimes below the surface of water. For me this was not always easy, especially because I was born and raised in the city of Denpasar. Of course, I sometimes slip and had even been carried away. Fortunately, my mother was so mighty. She would help me in time and did not let me brought by the water flow. She was brave, I thought it was because she was born and raised in the village, so she knows very well the challenges in the village including the crossing the river. In wet conditions, she usually would tell me to stand a moment in the dry stone and looked at the place where I was slip. Then we would continue to cross the river carefully.

Today, that experience is very meaningful. Dreams or ideas can not immediately be reached. There are a variety of stones, whether large or small, dry or wet, rough or smooth, which should be passed. It is like a journey of life, jobs, services and others that we have been, and we live in. If you fall, do not be drawn in sadness, come out of it to the place where you can stand for a moment, which is a break to understand the lesson from the last fall and be ready to take risks to move forward immediately as a winner. Often we are not assertive and linger in the struggles and often rely on our own strength. It was exhausting and a waste of time eventually. Often we end up forgetting the original ideas.

The following passage really soothing my heart and gives firmly hope.

Matthew 11: 28-30:

"Come to me, all of you who are tired from carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke and put it on you, and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in spirit; and you will find rest. For the yoke I will give you is easy, and the load I will put on you is light."

Jesus has lifted me from the fall many times. They were good lessons for me, so I can get out of the darkness into the light of the life. For that I give thanks and this blog is dedicated to it based on the actual experiences.

Shalom,
Pica Turker
